The short version
SendLinks is a link-tracking tool. When someone sends a link made with SendLinks and you open it, the sender can see that you opened it, roughly how long you stayed, and how much of any video you watched. That is the entire point of the product, and the page you open says so at the bottom.
What we collect from account holders
- Your name, email address, optional phone number, company and profile photo.
- The files, links and descriptions you upload.
- The contacts you add or import, and who you send links to.
- Standard security data such as sign-in times.
What we collect from people who open a link
- The date and time the page was opened, and each return visit.
- How long the page was actively on screen. Idle time is not counted.
- Which parts of a video were watched, and whether a file was opened or downloaded.
- Device type, operating system and browser — not a device fingerprint.
- A one-way hash of the IP address, used to spot abuse. We do not store the raw IP.
- A first name, if the sender asked for one and it was given.
We do not collect precise location, we do not read your contacts, and we do not track you anywhere other than the page you opened.
Cookies
Two small cookies are set on a shared page: one identifies your visit so the time counter does not restart on every scroll, and one distinguishes a return visit from a first visit. Neither is used for advertising and neither follows you to other websites.
Who sees what
Analytics belong to whoever created the original link. If a recipient forwards it, views down that chain still report to the original sender, and the forwarder gets no analytics at all. Team members share a library of assets; they never see each other's contacts or numbers.
Payments
Card details are handled entirely by Stripe. They never reach our servers. We store a customer reference and your subscription status, nothing more.
Keeping and deleting data
Account holders can delete any link, contact or asset at any time, and deleting a link removes everything it recorded. Deleting your account removes your uploads, contacts and all recorded activity, and immediately breaks every link you have sent.
If you received a link and want your record removed
Contact the person who sent it — they control that data and can delete it in a couple of taps. If you cannot reach them, email us at support@sendlinks.to and we will help.
Security
Passwords are stored as salted hashes. Every database query is parameterised. Uploaded files are served through an access-checked handler rather than linked directly.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will email account holders before it takes effect.
